At Evernex, corporate social responsibility is central to our commitment to the environment, people, and society. As a global company, we strive to make a meaningful impact by empowering local communities and supporting sustainable development. That’s why Evernex South Africa is proud to have help funded one of the SA Medical and Education (SAME) Foundation’s flagship initiatives to enhance STEM education in South African secondary schools.

The background
Since 2019, Evernex South Africa has proudly supported the SAME Foundation through ongoing financial contributions, helping advance their mission to uplift under-resourced communities across South Africa by improving access to healthcare and education.
In 2024, our team had the opportunity to visit Ikusasa Comprehensive School in Thembisa, where we met with the founders of the SAME Foundation and gained firsthand insight into the incredible impact of their work.
Part of this initiative is to strengthen STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education across the country. One such project is the development of two fully-equipped computer centers and three state-of-the-art science labs for the Ikusasa Comprehensive School.
Evernex and the SAME Foundation
Evernex South Africa stepped forward to help fund this impactful initiative, and we’re excited to share that the project was successfully completed in the first quarter of this year.
The facilities will provide essential resources for up to 2,000 students, offering them digital tools and hands-on experience with technology. Such confidence- and skill-building opportunities will help the learners to prepare for further education and careers during the fourth industrial revolution. This way, we hope to create a lasting positive impact on the local community.
STEM is an increasingly relevant area of study and opens the door to a huge variety of career paths for the younger generations. Evernex South Africa appreciates the possibility to provide the necessary resources so that Ikusasa Comprehensive School’s STEM departments can flourish.
Evernex South Africa is delighted to collaborate with the SAME Foundation and contribute to its valuable work. Like Evernex, the SAME Foundation is officially certified for its compliance with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) legislation, which aims to promote inclusive economic growth and greater participation of black South Africans in the economy. This shared commitment to social equity and sustainable development reflects our mutual dedication to building a more prosperous and inclusive future for the country — one driven by consistent, meaningful action.
Together with the SAME Foundation, we look forward to building a meaningful and constructive long-term engagement with Gauteng’s communities.
