The IT Market is Expanding in Latin America: Opportunities for growth and sustainability

Buenos Aires is establishing itself as the sector’s regional hub and Evernex, a key player betting on a digital future, is making its presence felt with new openings in the city’s tech district.

Latin America is experiencing an accelerating digital transformation, driven by the growing adoption of technologies such as the cloud and automatization by various industries. According to Gartner’s data, adoption of the cloud grew by 22% in 2022; it is estimated that by 2025, almost half of organizational operations will be implemented directly in the cloud infrastructure.

This phenomenon is reflected in the digitalization processes that SMEs in the region are undergoing. A report by Microsoft revealed that 60% of small and medium enterprises in LATAM had already adopted automatization solutions to optimize their processes.

This context of digital acceleration presents major challenges for organizations, especially in the management of their IT infrastructures. The demand for services that guarantee the continuity and efficiency of operations has increased, and with it, the need to optimize and extend the useful life of IT assets. According to Research and Markets, the region’s data center maintenance market is expected to grow by 10% per year until 2030.

“We are committed to solidifying our role as guarantors of the continuity and efficiency of our clients’ operations. Our mission is to help companies optimize their technological resources, extending the useful life of their assets and offering sustainable solutions which allow resilient and responsible growth in an increasingly demanding environment” states Mohamed Bella, Deputy CEO of Evernex, the global provider of comprehensive data center maintenance services.

With the aim of strengthening their operational capacity and improving their technological infrastructure, the global company – with 40 years of experience in the sector – has just opened their new office in the Tech District of Buenos Aires. It is a strategic decision that reflects the importance of Argentina in the regional strategy, as well as Evernex’s faith in the local market and its commitment to the development of tech infrastructures in the region.

Regional Strategy and the Growth of Digital Infrastructure

According to IDC, investment in IT in Latin America exceeded 190 billion dollars in 2023, demonstrating the region’s growing interest in digitalization. This trend has been a key growth driver for companies which offer advanced solutions for IT infrastructures.

“The strong demand for data center maintenance services (TPM) experienced by the local operation has established us as a leading player in the region. With over 250 clients in sectors including finance, telecoms and retail, we predict that 2025 will be ideal to strengthen our advanced service offers and expand our client base even further”, says Rennan Serrano, Managing Director of LATAM.

The growth of this sector is not only down to digital transformation, but also to the rising demand for responsible tech solutions. According to Accenture, 63% of businesses in LATAM consider sustainability when choosing tech providers. “Businesses are increasingly committed to reducing their environmental impact, which translates to a greater demand for IT solutions which optimize resources and reduce technological waste. This concern also affects hardware maintenance – it is here where our role takes on value, extending the useful life of IT assets through sustainable solutions which optimize resources and reduce e-waste”, adds Serrano.

2025 Insights: Sustained Growth and Regional Expansion

In 2025, the digital infrastructure sector is expected to grow significantly. With over 700 clients across the region, Evernex projects a robust growth, especially in key markets such as Argentina. In 2024, turnover surpassed 30 million dollars in LATAM, and predictions for next year indicate a sustained growth, driven by the solid demand for data center maintenance services and the digital transformation of businesses in the region.

With its thriving technology market and high GDP, Argentina continues to be a key hub for global companies betting on digital development at a regional level. “This is the perfect moment to continue evolving the local operation and strengthen our presence in the region”, Mohamed Bella affirms.

As companies in Latin America move toward digitalization, investment in IT infrastructure, sustainability and operational efficiency are turning into the pillars on which IT service providers’ growth strategy is based. With the sector constantly evolving, 2025 promises to be a pivotal year to continue developing solutions which help companies thrive sustainably in an increasingly competitive environment.
