Evernex South Africa Retains Highest BBBEE Rating for Sixth Year

We are proud to announce that Evernex South Africa has retained its BBEEE Level 1 status, the highest rating on the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment scale, for the sixth year running.

Introduced in 2003, the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act (the BEE Act), aims to redress inequality.

“We’re dedicated to economic transformation through South Africa’s change programme and the growth of local business in the country”, said Jan Beukes, Country Manager for Evernex South Africa. “Retaining the highest rating with this policy not only fills us with pride, but also inspire us to keep up our efforts in this area”.

The BBBEE act ranks companies in five different elements, each one with a different weight on the overall score: ownership, management control, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise and supplier development and socio-economic development.

Improving on last year’s score, Evernex received a total of 102.82 points, including perfect scores in the ownership and socio-economic development categories.

Among the factors that account for such a high score is our internship program, an initiative that provides education and skills development to previously unemployed citizens and contributes to job creation in South Africa.

For Evernex, the retention of our BBBEE Level 1 is part of our commitment to inclusion and diversity.

In South-Africa specifically, given our past, we truly have the opportunity to live out one of the Evernex corporate statements:

“We are more than an IT services company. We take responsibility by giving back to society and managing our impact – while helping our customers to do the same “
