Delete Facebook Feed Items from Your Profile
Until Facebook modifies the Feeds feature to allow users to opt out, the only choice for those
wishing to keep their activities out of the feeds is to click the little X next to every item that appears in the Mini-Feed in the user's
own profile. That's time consuming and annoying.
Now you can do it automatically. This Javascript bookmark, written by Dan
Cavallaro, automatically deletes every feed item when you're viewing your profile page with the Mini-Feed expanded. So, you can delete
feed items 10 at a time.
How to use
These are not extensively tested and I am not responsible for them breaking stuff or not working. I didn't even write them. You have been
warned. Do not e-mail me. If you have problems, questions, comments or flames join the
Facebook group for this page. Isn't it ironic? (Don't you think?)
Firefox
Simply drag the following link to your browser toolbar (below the address bar) or your bookmarks menu at the top of the browser. Then, when viewing your own profile on Facebook with the
Mini-Feed expanded, click the bookmark. Your visible feed items should all be deleted (up to 10 at once). Reload your profile and older
items will become visible, or if everything was deleted, the Mini-Feed will be cleared.
Internet Explorer
Right-click the following link and select 'Add to Favorites.' Click OK to the 'may not be safe' box. Then, when viewing your own profile on Facebook with the
Mini-Feed expanded, click the bookmark in your Favorites. Your visible feed items should all be deleted (up to 10 at once). Reload your profile and older
items will become visible, or if everything was deleted, the Mini-Feed will be cleared.
Safari
Drag the following link to your bookmark bar (right below the address bar) and drop it there. Then, when viewing your own profile on Facebook with the
Mini-Feed expanded, click the bookmark. Your visible feed items should all be deleted (up to 10 at once). Reload your profile and older
